Car buzzers. Do-it-yourself signaling devices for a car

24.07.2023

Probably all drivers at least once forgot to turn off the direction indicators after making a maneuver? Regular clicks from the front panel are not always well audible, especially if music is playing in the cabin, so I suggest supplementing your car with a simple do-it-yourself turn signal circuit.

This "beeper" does not turn on immediately when the turn signal is turned on, but after a certain time and after beeping several times, it turns off. If you accidentally forgot to turn off the turn, you will definitely react to this, and if you are standing in a Moscow traffic jam, the sound signal will not bother you much.

The circuit is connected to the power circuit of the turn relay. When the turn signal passes, a voltage appears on the relay winding, which also enters our circuit. At this moment, the charging of the capacitance C1 through the resistance R2 begins. It takes about a minute to charge the capacitor. When the voltage on it reaches the unity level, the shaper on the elements of the microassembly D1.1-D1.2 and the passive chain C3-R3-R4 generates a pulse lasting a couple of seconds. This pulse starts the multivibrator on the elements D1.3-D1.4, generating pulses with a repetition rate of 1 kHz. And then through the transistor and the speaker in its collector circuit. A squeaky monophonic sound lasting several seconds is heard.

After turning off the turns, the capacitance C1 starts to quickly discharge through the resistance R1 and the diode VD1. Therefore, if you turn on the turn signal again, the circuit is already ready for the next cycle of operation.

The K561LA7 chip can be replaced with a domestic K176LA7 or imported CD4011 (pPD4011, MJ4011 and the like). Speaker B1 can be borrowed from an old landline telephone. In principle, almost any sufficiently miniature speaker of a dynamic or electromagnetic system will do. If you use a piezo speaker, the transistor switch can be excluded from the circuit, and the piezo speaker can be connected between the inputs of the D1.4 element connected together and its output.

Setting up the circuit consists in setting the necessary intervals: by selecting the resistance R2, the operating time of the turn signals without sound is set, and the value of the resistor R4 controls the duration of the sound signal.

The turn beeper circuit consists of a generator on a K561LE5 microassembly. Sound piezo emitter ZP-3. By tuning resistance we select the tone of the sound; The power supply diode will reliably protect the structure from possible reverse polarity. The microcircuit is installed on the panel.

PCB size 20 x 22 mm. The power wires are connected in parallel with the wires coming from the turn signal breaker relay connector.

For especially forgetful drivers and blondes in small red cars, I propose to assemble a sound signaling circuit. The device is assembled on a common and cheap K155LA3 chip and is connected to a turn signal or handbrake control lamp in accordance with

Many drivers forget to turn off their turn signal after passing through an intersection, misleading other drivers. To prevent this from happening, I assembled a homemade product that duplicates the operation of the direction indicators with an audible signal. Here is the DIY diagram

The circuit is very simple, which is a sound generator of two transistors, two capacitors, one resistor and a telephone capsule TK-67, or TA-56m at 50 ohms. For this we need the following materials and tools:

1-Transistors MP-25, MP-37, resistor MLT-0.25W with a resistance of 1 kΩ, an electrolytic capacitor with a capacity of 5 microfarads 25V, an MBM capacitor with a capacity of 0.05 microfarads, a telephone capsule TA-56m 50 ohm, a switch. 2-soldering iron, solder, rosin, tweezers, wire cutters, circuit board with petals from any old TV, mounting wires.

We collect as follows:

Step 1- Check the radio components with a multimeter

To do this, we set the device to measure resistance of 2000 ohms, connect the black probe of the device to the base of the MP-25 transistor, and the red one to the collector, the device should have a resistance of about 170 ohms.

Next, we connect the black probe to the base, and the red probe to the emitter, on the device too - 170 ohm.

Now we swap the probes, the device should have - 1.

We measure the resistance between the emitter and the collector - on the device -1.

We also check the MP-37 transistor in the same way, in this case the red probe is on the base, the black probe is on the collector, and then on the emitter, the device should have about 170 ohms. Swap the probes - shows -1. K-E resistance - 1.

We check the resistance of the resistor, as shown in the photo.

We also check the capacitors and the telephone capsule.

Step 2 - solder the parts to the circuit board, first solder the jumpers between the petals from the wires. Then we solder the capacitors and the resistor, and after that we solder the transistors and then the switch and capsule.

Step 3

We check the performance of the homemade product by connecting + 12v power to it from the power supply or car battery. The generated signal should be audible in the telephone capsule.

Step 4 - we place the homemade product in any suitable case for this, at your discretion. This is not shown in the photo. Next, install the homemade product in the car. With a minimum of parts - great benefits for the driver.

Sometimes drivers, especially beginners, forget to turn off the turn signal after completing a maneuver. Regular clicks are sometimes not audible if the music is playing loudly. A self-made 12 v turn signal repeater will help correct the situation. Instructions for making your own tweeter are included in this article.

The purpose of the audio turn signal

In cars, as a rule, they began to install turn signal switches, which, after completing the maneuver, automatically return to the neutral position. This has its advantages: no need to be distracted by turning off the turn signals when the turn is completed, no need to spend time checking if the signal is turned off. Over time, the auto-return of the switch may fail (the author of the video is Alexander Baranov).

In some vehicles, the switch does not automatically return to its original position. In this case, you must independently monitor its shutdown after the turn is completed. When clicks are heard, but sometimes they are not heard due to loud music or noise.

If the turn signals are not turned off in time, this can cause an emergency on the road, as it confuses other road users.

By setting the audible notification of the switch relay operation, you can solve the problem of forgotten turn off.

Instructions for making a tweeter for turn signals

You can make an audible turn signal for your car with your own hands within 15 minutes, without contacting a car service about this. To create such a duplicate of the turn signals, you need the K561LN2 chip, it will serve as the basis. In addition, you need a booster, but without a built-in generator.

You can take a boozer, which has a built-in generator, if you like its sound. In this case, an example of connecting a buzzer to a regular low-frequency generator is analyzed. Having connected to the bass generator, you should turn the tuning knob and select the most suitable sound. Now you can reproduce it using the K561LN2 chip and the generator as the basis.

The device diagram can be represented in two parts:

  1. The generator is assembled from two logical elements INV1 and INV2, to which a timing RC circuit is connected.
  2. The amplifier consists of three logical elements INV3, INV4, INV5 paralleled with each other. They are connected in parallel to amplify the switched current. Thanks to the amplifier, the generator can work with a load in the form of a booster.

The tone of the sound repeater is adjusted by changing the value of C1 and R1. When connecting the device, the negative pole is attached to the "mass" of the car, and the positive one is taken from the stop by means of "decoupling" diodes.

To determine the terminals of the button, you should use a multimeter. On it you need to select the mode for measuring direct voltage. Turning on the left turn signal, you need to look at which terminal a voltage of +12 Volts periodically appears. Similar actions must be performed by turning on the right turn signal.

In this case, the device is suspended. A 2 mm syringe with a piston removed from it is used for the body of the audio turn signal. The wire is brought out of a narrow hole - the nozzle of the syringe, and the booster is attached to the back of the syringe with hot glue.

Thus, it is easy to assemble an audio turn signal with your own hands using a microcircuit and 5 logic elements. This can save you time and money on visiting a car service.

Video "Installing a sound duplicate of the turn signals"

This video demonstrates how to install the turn signal buzzer yourself (the author of the video is Auto-Moto World).

When driving in heavy traffic and when the driver makes various maneuvers, direction indicators are of no small importance. Many novice drivers are often simply lost, forgetting that after completing the next maneuver, turn off the turn signal. By doing so, they (unconsciously) provoke other road users.

To prevent such a misunderstanding, a home-made sound understudy of turns is called upon, which, by the way, can be assembled in just ... in 10 minutes. And here the K561LN2 chip will be an important help to the motorist. Its main differences are low power consumption and good performance.

Immediately it is necessary to make a reservation why in this case I did not use a standard booster containing a built-in generator. It just doesn't have a very pleasant tone. Therefore, at first it is desirable to connect the booster to the input of the low-frequency generator, then select the appropriate sound with the tuning knob at the output. And only after that let the sound through the chip.

The device circuit consists of two separate parts.

The generator contains two logical elements, as well as a small timing circuit.

The amplifier consists of three logical elements paralleled to each other. Such a connection significantly increases the strength of the switched current. The amplifier enables stable operation of the microcircuit generator with loads of the “boozer” type.

Installation and connection of the device.

The negative pole (minus) is attached, as usual, to the "mass" of the car. The positive pole (plus) is taken from the emergency stop button via decoupling diodes.

To figure out which of the terminals of this button corresponds to which turn signal, you need to use a multimeter connected to measure DC voltage. Then, turning on the turn signal (for example, the left one), make sure that +12 volts periodically appears and disappears on one of the terminals. Do the same with the other turn signal.
