The profile of the car is distinguished by high side windows. It is noteworthy that the roof does not tend to fall back, remaining almost flat. A thin strip above the threshold in the form of stamping at the bottom of the doors makes its aesthetic contribution to the overall appearance of the side part. It is worth noting that the profile design is dominated by strict and straight lines, but the car does not look rough and angular. Branded wheel rims can significantly decorate a compact car. The side mirrors are located on horizontal black pillars, visually creating a feeling of greater body width. The rear part is distinguished by a different color for the 5th door from the general body. The trunk lid is black, perfectly contrasting with the rest of the body parts. The rear brake lights are positioned vertically and have a simple rectangular shape with softened corners. Transparent inserts in the headlights make the optics look expensive and presentable. Hyundai's design solutions made it possible to create a nice and very visually pleasing car. The car looks modern, has a sleek silhouette and sweeping lines. Volkswagen demonstrated its usual solutions, creating a classic and strict, but extremely elegant and attractive car.

The winner at this stage of the exterior comparison is definitely the Volkswagen Up hatchback. The car looks stylish, expensive and very original. The model has a certain charisma, which sets it apart from its faceless competitors. As for the Hyundai i10, although this car has a nice design, it remains an ordinary global product, devoid of the charm and unique individuality that the creators of the Volkswagen Up were able to successfully achieve.

Behind them we can observe a couple of large buttons on each side to control the direction of flow. Between the controls is a small horizontal row of keys for interacting with the available air conditioner functions.

Central tunnel connected to the dashboard, being a continuation of the center console. The vertical part of the tunnel has a niche that can be closed with a lid, which is very convenient and practical. Next comes the gear shift lever. The element itself is made simply, but its seat again received a rich finish in the color of the car’s body.

Steering wheel multifunctional and consists of three wide knitting needles. An abundance of keys for controlling communication and multimedia systems were placed in the center of the vertical spokes, as well as along the edges of the horizontal one. The steering wheel rim is slightly swollen, covered with high-quality material and made with tides for the correct position of the hands.

Dashboard hidden under a small visor. The layout of the instruments is almost traditional. On the left side there is a medium-sized odometer scale. The center is reserved for a large speedometer with a silver edge. At the bottom there is a rectangular display of the on-board trip computer. The car interior greets riders with excellent finishing materials and high quality assemblies. Hard plastic dominates the trim, but numerous interesting design solutions not only decorate the interior, but make it even luxurious for such a car.

The designers got rid of the central air ducts, leaving round deflectors only on the sides of the dashboard. These elements are made very stylishly; the chrome insert on the curtain and the round chrome edging look especially good. This visual effect is also created due to the fact that the entire central part of the panel can be made of lacquered black plastic, and options with an insert to match the color of the car are also possible. The color is very deep and rich, contrasting perfectly with the overall matte surface. This decision of the designers cannot be blamed for its practicality, because fingerprints can be quite easily removed with a damp car wipe, allowing the said decorative insert to be restored to its original shine.

Looks no less original and rich center console car. The navigation system is designed as a separate device, analogues of which can be found on the open market for non-standard installation. The only difference is the way the black rectangular device is mounted, which is mounted on a neat stand directly above the center console.

The console itself begins with a large rectangle, which has soft edges and is very favorably emphasized by the chrome trim against the background of the lacquered insert. At the top there are three large round air conditioner handles, stylishly finished in silver. On the sides there are vertical rows of buttons to control the direction of the air flow. Hidden in the top right corner is a neat hazard warning button.

Below follows the system multimedia. It has a small rectangular monochrome display. Two medium-sized round controls are scattered around the edges of the block. A pair of large function buttons were pressed against the screen itself to interact with the audio system.

Central tunnel medium height. It is connected to the dashboard, but the designers have moved away from a monolithic design. The vertical part of the tunnel has a convenient compartment for storing small items. Below is a cup holder and a car socket.

Gear lever it was made modestly and rather strictly, and its seating area did not receive any design accents. German severity has bypassed only the gearshift knob, which stands out against the general background with silver stripes. The parking brake is in its usual place, occupying the central part of the tunnel.

Seats The car's interiors are made using high-quality fabric, which has a pleasant gray-black color and rich texture. You can also find colored inserts in those trim levels where the plastic is painted in body color. The chairs have a decent range of adjustments, and the filling cannot be accused of being hard or soft. The result is a golden mean, perfect for leisurely city driving. Lateral support is expressed at a level sufficient for the potential capabilities of the car.

Door cards the top part boasts a familiar insert that matches the color of the car's body. The interior handles are traditionally finished in chrome.

Steering wheel three-spoke, very light and sporty. Lacquered inserts decorate the interior. The rim is of medium thickness, perfect for a secure grip. The high-quality rim finishing material only enhances this impression.

Dashboard narrow and located under a protruding visor. The arrangement of instruments is classic. On the left side there is a small round tachometer, in the center there is a large speedometer, and on the right side there is a fuel level indicator in the gas tank. The devices have a pronounced silver edging. At the bottom of the speedometer, the designers placed a rectangular display of a monochrome BC. The backlight for all buttons, displays and instruments is red and white.

It was quite easy to identify the winner at this stage of interior comparison. It was the German Volkswagen Up, which has a simply luxurious interior for this class. The Hyundai i10 is capable of competing with many of its classmates on the market, but the stylish and elegant German opponent Volkswagen Up turned out to be too strong a rival, leaving the unified interior of the South Korean hatchback almost no chance of winning.

Ride quality

Hyundai I-10 responds cheerfully to the gas pedal. The start is quite confident, but the agility of the engine quickly subsides in higher gears. The gearbox operates smoothly, the clutch is quite elastic, but not hard.

The car's chassis is a standard set for the class: MacPherson strut at the front and a torsion beam at the rear. The suspension copes well with small irregularities, fearing breakdowns only on serious potholes.

The steering is tuned for a comfortable and smooth ride. Roll in turns is acceptable, but everything is within the limits of what is permitted. This also applies to drift along the axes, because the car is exclusively urban and cannot satisfy great driver ambitions.

The brakes are disc brakes everywhere and are quite sharp, so stopping is not a problem. All systems work predictably and without complaints. The hatchback tries to maintain a straight line during braking.

Volkswagen Up responds to the gas with a sharp rise in the tachometer needle. In first and second gear the car picks up speed well. Then everything is quite predictable for a small-volume engine. The box works clearly and harmoniously with the clutch, allowing for smooth shifting.

The front suspension is the usual MacPherson strut, and the rear axle has a semi-independent torsion beam. The chassis handles unevenness well, and its work remains almost unnoticeable on small potholes and ridges. The car is not capable of storming the deep nuances of the road surface; breakdown is quite real here.

Driving the car is comfortable, the settings are reduced to ensuring ease and predictability of reactions. The car follows the steering wheel with minimal delay. There is practically no roll when turning, but drifts of the rear axle are quite real, but only at high speed.

The hatchback has ventilated disc brakes at the front, while the rear has a drum-type design. The brakes are delicate, becoming sharp only when the pedal is pressed hard. The car stops confidently and stays in a straight line.

This stage of comparison again remains with the Volkswagen Up, but the car’s advantages compared to its competitor Hyundai i10 are not so significant. The main advantages can be considered better sound insulation of the wheel arches and more precise steering settings. The German's suspension is also a little quieter.
