Almost all car owners have at least once heard information about fake accidents.

Such information is often reported by newspaper media and television channels, while giving a large number of recommendations on exactly how to behave if you find yourself in such a situation. However, people quite often completely forget all the advice they received, giving scammers the opportunity to make themselves an unwitting participant in such an accident, including the culprit. How should you act to minimize the likelihood of getting into such a situation?

Principles of choosing a “victim”. First of all, it is worth deciding what type of car owners most often falls for such schemes and becomes their victim. The most optimal targets for scammers are those drivers who drive inexpensive budget cars foreign production, or high-quality domestic machines. They select car owners who drive alone, which means they do not have unnecessary witnesses in the car. The second, most suitable option is female drivers. They cannot offer physical resistance, and they are much easier to intimidate. But there are also several categories of cars that are almost never touched by scammers. These include, for example, cars that have “thieves” license plates installed. In addition, in their criminal schemes they do not use “processing” of owners of expensive SUVs or business class sedans. Attempts to “divorce” them may cause problems for the criminals themselves. Another type of car on which such schemes are rarely used are cars with tinted windows. Simply put, they are not touched for the reason that there is no way to see the number of people who are inside. And the last ones that car substitutes will not touch are cars with several people in the cabin. The reason is that they do not need extra witnesses, in addition, the need to intimidate several people makes the task much more difficult.

Carrying out a fake accident. When performing such actions, attackers use cars from fairly well-known manufacturers that have a spectacular appearance. Their peculiarity may be the complete absence of numbers, or the fact that they are smeared with dirt. The second option would be to use fake license plates. On the left side of such machines there are often damages that were sustained in previous operations, or were inflicted on purpose. The total number of participating cars is most often two. The task of the first of them is to push the victim’s car out of the lane, while the second is to collide. They adhere to this principle almost constantly.

Driver behavior in such a situation. Should we try to resist such actions? Of course yes.

  1. To do this, you should definitely purchase a DVR for the car interior. Such a witness is quite difficult to intimidate or bribe.
  2. You should always call the traffic police on your own, without trusting anyone;
  3. While waiting for the squad to arrive, you should definitely film the location of both cars and the damage they received. Don't forget about appearance the criminals themselves.
  4. If you are threatened, you should simply lock the car from the inside and immediately call the traffic police.

Bottom line. One of the rules that can help avoid getting into such a situation is compliance with traffic rules. Often, criminals, seeing that everything is not developing according to their planned scenario, leave the scene without waiting for the traffic police officers to appear.

I think there is no need to explain the practicality of having parking sensors in a car. Especially if the car is operated in a metropolis. And if there is also a spoiler installed on the car...

Parking sensors were selected according to the following criteria: the presence of 4 sensors and a display reflecting the distance to the object, low price. The Falcon BPS-4i parking radar was selected.

Connection does not raise any questions because there are instructions... We connect the parking sensors to the positive wire that goes to the lights reverse.

Removing the bumper is described in detail in the Operation and Repair Manual VAZ 2110-11-12. The only problem that arose was when choosing the location for installing the sensors. According to the manufacturer's recommendations, the distance between the sensors should be about 30-33 cm, and the installation height should not be lower than 30 cm from the road - otherwise false alarms are possible. Therefore, the recess in the bumper skirt was excluded from possible installation locations. The only place suitable for installation was the recess under the number. But with this arrangement of parking sensors, it is necessary to install small spacers to ensure perpendicularity to the road surface. We lay the wires from the sensors through the standard hole along with the license plate light wires. The control unit can be mounted on the stiffener of the right panel supporting the luggage compartment shelf. We run the display cable on the right side under the ceiling trim. And we fix the parking sensor display itself with a self-tapping screw to the panel covering the rear view mirror mount.

During operation, some features were identified, both pleasant and not so pleasant:
+ information about the distance to the object is displayed quite accurately, both sound and visual indication;
+ when parking, the sensors even distinguish the gratings of embankment fences;
- instead of the 1.5 meter distance to the object declared by the manufacturer, the beeper starts working only at a distance of 1 meter;
- at low temperatures (below -15C), the parking sensors slow down a little, i.e. works with a certain delay.

For many drivers, parking sensors have already become an integral part of the car, as they make parking much easier. The reason for this is the huge number of cars and the lack of parking spaces, and if there are any, it will not be easy to get there. This is exactly what parking sensors are for. Sensors scan the area behind and in front of the car, warning in advance of approaching objects. On many modern cars foreign-made, parking sensors are installed from the factory, but in the Russian automobile industry they don’t even think about such an innovation. You have to do everything yourself. This article will describe in detail the process of installing parking sensors on a car.
So, let's begin. First you need to select a set of sensors that will more or less comply with the standard. Typically, salespeople in auto parts stores don’t try to sell you any crap, since in many cases they themselves don’t know what’s best. It is better to choose a set of parking sensors based on their number, the minimum number of sensors is 2. For more detailed scanning of the area and for scanning dead spots, it is best to purchase a set of sensors, the list of which includes 4 sensors.

The main thing when installing parking sensors is to determine the correct location of the sensors on the bumper. If you do everything wrong, the sensors will be a little deceiving about approaching objects. Thus, the system will notify you about the distance to the object either very early, or too late, or may not detect objects at all.
When choosing parking sensors, take into account their resistance to temperature, to the car being in a car wash, etc. If you take these parameters into account, you will not suffer in the cold in the winter. There are several types of parking sensors, for example Multitronics PT-3TC sensors, have the ability to work with certain on-board computers TC 750, VC731, RC-700 and many other Multitronics computers. If you want to paint the parking sensors in the color of the car, then you can paint them with regular paint; this will not affect the operation of the sensors. Prices for parking sensors vary, they start from one thousand rubles, depending on their quality and brand. I got into a conversation, let's get started with the operation of installing parking sensors. Let's start work. In order to install the sensors, we will need to drill four holes in the bumper, equal in diameter and height to the location on the bumper. For convenience, the bumper can be removed, but you can do without it, since everyone is comfortable differently. Using a tape measure, mark the appropriate distance between the sensors and drill holes in the desired location.

Now you can install parking sensors. In my case, I removed the bumper and only then started drilling. For drilling, the parking sensor kit includes a special bit that has the exact size of the sensors. We install the sensors and adjust them so that they are in the same plane. Now you need to stretch the wires. I decided to run the wiring through the trunk. Using a drill, we make a hole in the body and insert the wires there. We stretch the wires into the trunk. Now in the right rear corner of the trunk, we attach the sensor control panel and power this panel from the positive wire, the reverse light, so it will only work when reverse is on. Now everything is ready, we check everything in action and rejoice.

Parking sensors are a very useful thing for any driver, especially for a novice. This device allows you to park conveniently and quickly in the most difficult situations. Thanks to this system, the driver knows exactly how much of his car is left behind the obstacle. If the target is close, the system begins to emit sound signals of a certain frequency, and the lights may also light up. And if a more professional system is chosen, then in the cabin on the liquid crystal display you can even see in numbers the distance to the obstacle.

In this article we will talk about how you can install parking sensors on a VAZ 2114 with your own hands.

Materials and tools for manufacturing:

- set of parking sensors;
- bumper;
- wires;
- soldering iron with solder;
- self-tapping screws;
- roulette;
- drill with a 22 mm cutter;
- screwdriver and other tools.

Parking sensor installation process:

Step one. Bumper preparation
First of all, the author removes the bumper and sends it for painting. After the bumper has been sanded, primed and painted, the necessary sensors are installed in it.

Among other things, you need to remember to install all the fasteners on the painted bumper if they were removed before painting. To do this, you need to tighten four screws and four bolts to 10.

Step two. Bumper markings

At the second stage, the bumper needs to be marked. It is necessary to determine in advance exactly where the parking sensors will be installed. Two sensors are installed at the edges, and two more closer to the center. If the sensors are simply placed in the center, the system simply will not see the obstacle if it is located on the edge of the bumper.

Now you can start drilling the bumper and installing the sensors. A total of four holes are needed, the fifth was drilled for other purposes, the author plans to install a camera there.
After installing the sensors, the bumper can be installed on the car.

Step three. We carry out the wiring
To conduct wiring into the interior, you will need to unscrew the rear lights. In this case, two wires will pass on the right side and two on the left. As you can see in the photo, the lights are secured with four bolts.

In order to secure the parking sensors unit, small self-tapping screws were used. The unit is attached to the acoustic shelf. At the final stage, all wiring is hidden under the upholstery.

In order for the parking sensor monitor to turn on only after reverse gear is engaged, plus must be supplied from the rear light. To do this, you need to ring the flashlight block and find a plus there, which turns on only when the reverse gear is engaged. The wire on the VAZ 2114 is green. As for the minus, it is taken from the ground; for this, the wire can be fixed with a nut securing the flashlight.

Next, the wires need to be stretched from the parking sensors unit to the monitor, which is located in the cabin. The author stretched the wires under the carpet, while the thresholds were unscrewed. You can see in the photo where to mount the monitor.

That's all, after the system is assembled, you can start testing. According to the author, the system is a little lacking in response, so for those who like to drive quickly in reverse, the system will not allow them to determine the distance to an obstacle in time. If you park slowly, then everything works without any problems. When about 20-30 cm remains to the target, the system begins to “squeak and turn red.” However, you can navigate both by the display and by sound signals. If necessary, the same sensors can be installed on the front of the car.

Parktronic is a device designed to facilitate the parking process for a novice motorist. You can install parking sensors at numerous car dealerships or do it yourself. We will consider the last option, when there is no desire or opportunity to go to a car service center.

First you need to decide on the choice of device. Nowadays there are a huge number of different models and modifications available in stores. By and large, there are few differences among this set. The main differences lie in the appearance of the monitor, and the characteristics of the sensors themselves are no different. A different number of sensors can be installed on car bumpers. Typically, car enthusiasts install 4 on each bumper, and some car enthusiasts install only on the rear one. Parking sensors are especially relevant on tinted cars, when in conditions of limited visibility you have to back out into the dark.

Installation process

Immediately before installing the parking sensors, you should wash the car. Next, you need to determine the locations most suitable for installing the sensors. For example, in a jeep there is a spare wheel mount that can be placed on back door, is the extreme dimensional point.

The next step requires removing the car bumper. During the dismantling process, you should be careful not to confuse the fasteners for the front and rear bumpers. After this, you need to make markings and drill holes for the parking sensors (Fig. 1). But you don’t have to remove the bumper - you can drill holes anyway, only then you will need some skill and patience to route the wires into the car’s interior.

Rice. 1: mark places on the bumper for sensors

When marking locations for sensors, it is important to be extremely careful: extra drilled holes will be impossible to eliminate. In order to better navigate when parking in the future, the parking sensors are located at the same distance from each other.

The next step is to lay the wires (Fig. 2) and connect the device sensors to the vehicle's electrical circuit. Before connecting the sensors and parking sensors, you need to de-energize the vehicle's electrical circuit. It is necessary to lay the wires from the sensors to the parking sensors display very carefully. Rear bumper sensors can be connected to the power supply for the reversing lights. This way, the parking sensors will only work when you are in reverse gear. This is convenient - once again there will be no squeaking in the car when, for example, in a traffic jam someone comes close from behind.

Rice. 2: laying wires from sensors

Next, the display is installed (Fig. 3) and all sensors are connected. The location of the parking sensors display should be extremely favorable for the driver: he should see the readings of the display without changing the position of his head.

Rice. 3: scoreboard parking radar

That's all! The whole procedure takes 2-3 hours - it’s not that long, but at the same time it’s educational. Below we offer you to watch the whole process in the video.
