There are original parts and there are. Distinctive features of the original from the non-original. What auto parts are better for taking. According to CTR data, China is the main source of counterfeiting worldwide.

Hello dear motorists! There are spare parts and spare parts for any car models and brands. Why is this depth of thought? And just everything.

When it comes to choosing original and non-original spare parts for cars, opponents of non-original spare parts for foreign cars often confuse concepts.

Namely: they interfere with a bunch of counterfeit, pirated products with non-original spare parts, urging motorists to buy only original spare parts, both for foreign cars and for domestic cars.

So let's try to jointly disassemble this "mountain" of spare parts, understand how non-original spare parts for foreign cars differ from original ones, what are the pros and cons of non-original spare parts. And is it worth buying non-original spare parts for foreign cars.

And again for the skeptics. Do not confuse a fake, "handicraft" made in the basement, with real aftermarket auto parts made at the factory. This comparison is at least incorrect.

What are non-original spare parts for foreign cars

To enter the "topic", a few words about what constitutes an original spare part. Genuine car parts are parts with car brand logos printed on them.

But, it is not a fact that, for example, the timing belt for BMW is made at the company's plant in Bavaria. Modern globalization and standardization of production is built in such a way that the manufacturer of this timing belt can be official factory BMW partner in Turkey.

When manufacturing a particular spare part, the subcontractor - partner of the concern has the right to apply the BMW logo on the spare parts. And this is how an original spare part for a popular foreign car is born.

Then who produces non-original spare parts for cars, you ask. In our case, this is a timing belt for BMW. And all the same plant in Turkey produces. And now we will talk about non-original spare parts for foreign cars.

The difference between an original spare part and a non-original one is only in the presence of the brand logo on the original spare part.

When on the resources of auto-internet shops, they say that the quality of non-original spare parts is worse, then they are a little cunning in order to sell original spare parts. After all, the price difference is quite tangible. But, in fact, when buying original spare parts for a car, we pay not for quality, but for the brand.

An allied plant that produces parts for an auto concern on an assembly line produces the same parts, from the same material and using the same technology, but under its own brand. And it is this spare part that we call non-original.

Are there any differences, advantages and disadvantages of non-original spare parts? This is a rhetorical question when it comes to factory non-original spare parts for foreign cars. There are no differences in quality, and there cannot be, since the brand is an automaker, which carefully controls the production of the related plant. Image is at stake, and therefore credibility and sales. And this is worth a lot.

There is one important difference - the cost of non-original spare parts is less. Without compromising on quality. After all, the same subcontractor plant supplying components to the conveyor, among other things, is also interested in promoting its brand, which means that we are provided with a quality product.

So, we figured out how and why original and non-original spare parts for foreign cars differ. Now the important question is how to choose the right parts for a car.

How to choose non-original spare parts and not be mistaken

Not so long ago, we were recommended this option for choosing spare parts - by packaging and labels. For example, on the labels of original Mazda parts, the company logo, part number and the inscription Mazda Genuine Parts were applied. On non-original spare parts, this very inscription was absent. This is an example.

But we perfectly understand and know that today money is counterfeited in such a way that it is possible to distinguish a fake only with the help of laboratory tests. What can we say about packaging and labels for car parts. With the use of modern printing methods, they can be done in any way.

Visually, you will not be able to determine the differences between spare parts: original, non-original and outright "bullshit" that was made in an underground workshop. Even fakes today look 100% like a quality spare part.

And what, a dead end when choosing a non-original spare part? No. The way out, as always, is simple and lies on the surface. The first thing we need to understand: having saved today on the purchase of spare parts from dubious sellers in the car market or in the roadside stall "Auto parts", tomorrow we can lose a lot of money due to the failure of some auto system.

Therefore, when choosing original and non-original spare parts, we go the civilized way: we carry out the car in the electronic spare parts catalog using the spare part identification number (part).

We contact only an authorized dealer who gives a real guarantee for a particular spare part. And confirms its status as a dealer with the appropriate certificates.

Most importantly, do not be shy in this case and be sure to ask for certificates of conformity. After all, the technical condition of your car, and sometimes your personal health and life, depends on a low-quality spare part, whether it is original or not.

Folk wisdom "The miser pays twice" is known to everyone. Nevertheless, as practice shows, counterfeit spare parts are widely dispersed among buyers. For the simple reason that they are cheaper than the original ones. What is the danger of installing fake suspension parts on a car and how to distinguish them from the original? The Russian representative office of the company helped us to deal with these issues. CTR.

“If a driver establishes a fake, then it is impossible to give any guarantees regarding his life and health. Because the breakage of such suspension parts as a ball joint or a steering tip on the move is fraught with a complete loss of control, and it is not known how and in which direction the car will be thrown off the road. Human life is really at stake! " - says Roman Kartuzov, head of the CTR office in the CIS.

According to the expert, no one can tell how quickly the counterfeit part will fail. Outwardly, it can be very similar to the original, however, if it corresponds to it in geometric dimensions, then at the installation stage and during further operation it can behave absolutely unpredictably.

For example, a ball joint pin, made in violation of technology, will disable the entire lever. In particular, a cheap part, processed on a conventional lathe, will leave marks from the cutter, which will begin abrasive wear of the lever seat.

Repeatedly there is a separation of the finger from the ball due to the use of poor-quality welding. CTR uses spatial 3D forging, in which the ball and finger are one piece. And if welding is used, then it is robotic, with high-frequency currents, excluding separation.

In addition, low-grade, cheap steels, which are usually counterfeited, do not in themselves meet the strength specifications of the vehicle manufacturer. This can lead to problems on the very first bump: the steering rods break off, the stabilizer struts and levers bend. Another problem is inaccurate dimensions or dents in parts, which lead to uneven tire wear.

On the left is the original, on the right is a fake.

According to CTR data, China is the main source of counterfeiting worldwide.

More than 90% of counterfeits originate from China.

Most often, counterfeit can be found in the UAE, as Dubai is the world's largest trading platform.

In Russia, fakes under CTR, according to the Russian representative office of the brand, are sometimes found in cities bordering China. Deeper into the country, counterfeit products reach minimal volumes thanks to active work with the customs authorities and organized raids. In addition, most manufacturers, including CTR, publish on their websites lists of official distributors whose quality is guaranteed. In the future, the company plans to add authorized retail outlets to this list.

How to distinguish genuine from fake CTR products? First of all, you need to pay attention to the packaging: it must be marked with the inscription Made in Korea. If the country of origin is any other or not indicated at all, the part is almost certainly fake. CTR has a factory in China, but supplies from it only to the conveyors of internal car manufacturers.

On one of the six sides of the individual packaging of a part (box), there must be a label with several mandatory lines: brand part number, OEM number (may not be available depending on the country of delivery), barcode, QR code, Made in Korea inscription, description (part name), number of parts in the package.

Above is a fake box, below is an original one.
INCTRs pay special attention to the fact that neither the sticker nor the box should have Korean letters - only English spelling.

The CTR detail should be shown on the package only as a 3D model, and, moreover, without any cuts. The image was redesigned from 2D to 3D by the company in the mid-2000s, and if a 2D image appears on the box it is most likely a fake. In addition, all boxes bear the name of Central Corporation, the owner of the CTR trademark.

Each pack of original CTR parts has a QR code that replaces holograms. The latter have not been used by the company for about six years. If there is a hologram on the box with other parts, this is a reason for suspicion that a fake or a very stuck part is hidden inside.

Most of the levers of the Korean brand are not packed in cardboard boxes due to the size and weight of such parts - such parts are packed in plastic bags, but the above sticker should also be on them.

Counterfeit parts are often almost completely identical to the original in appearance, but there are still differences. One of the signs of counterfeiting is the absence of a dot on the part with a special marker, in addition, there is no laser imprint of the product code on the case on fakes (the laser gives a green tint when burned out).

What's the bottom line?

Generally speaking, with the current level of technology, it is practically useless to try to identify a fake on your own. Even specialists sometimes fail. However, you can, of course, avoid purchasing counterfeit products.

First, you need to buy spare parts only from official distributors, whose contacts can always be found on the manufacturer's website. Secondly, if possible, have a standard (original) or just be familiar with it in order to compare a known high-quality product bought from an authorized dealer with what they are trying to sell you.

There are many matching parameters: a ring on a link, a boot on a ball joint, nuts, grease, traces from a lathe, the quality of rolling, threads and bolts. If you have the slightest doubt about the authenticity, you should contact the brand representative, where they will definitely help.

This detail is absent in our price list, you can leave a request and we will answer you about the cost and terms

How to distinguish an original part from a fake?

1.PACKING PARTS

ORIGINAL NEORIGINAL

All original body parts CHERY, GEELY are delivered in dense cardboard boxes with labels of one or another manufacturer (left side). Parts wrapped in cardboard with ties is 100% unoriginal (right side).

ALL ORIGINAL parts have branded packaging and a branded sticker of the manufacturer.

ORIGINAL NEORIGINAL

For example: The manufacturer CHERY has a two-layer label "CHERY" on the corporate sticker in the upper left corner. The first layer is a transparent film with the applied label and the name "CHERY" (Fig. 3). The second layer is a red rectangle glued to the main sticker (Fig. 4). The main label has a square size of 60x60mm (Fig. 1).

Examples of fake CHERY sticker:

The non-original on the CHERY stickers DOES NOT have a transparent film with the label and the name CHERY, the data is printed on a rectangular red sticker, which indicates that the part is not original:

The manufacturer GEELY has a branded label in the form of a 65x65mm sticker: NEW

The top layer of the original sticker should peel off easily from the base layer. The diagonal of the entire sticker is marked with the "GEELY" watermark:

ORIGINAL OLD STICKER

Examples of fakes of the GEELY sticker:

DIFFERENCE between stickers

1. Lack of description of the use of the part

2. Lack of plant marking

3. Along the perimeter there are corner slots

4. Inscription with number

5. No printing in red

6. Barcode with thin lines

LIFAN label fake

1. The label is round, the factory sticker has an oval one

2. Rectangular area in gray - drawn, factory sticker Scratch layer (protective erasable layer)

2. WEIGHT

All non-original parts differ in weight (weight may vary up to 40% from the factory part).

Engine mudguard mounting bracket:

ORIGINAL 160gr. NEORIGINAL 95gr.

3. APPEARANCE

On the left side there is an unoriginal lantern, which after 2 months began to turn yellow. On the right side of the factory original lantern, auto 2005.

Non-original headlights, lanterns, PTF very quickly lose their appearance.

And remember, there is a difference between non-original and analog parts.

Analog parts are factory parts made by third-party factories.

Non-original are often parts made in "garages" and "basements". Photos of such establishments are shown below.

Where does a car manufacturer get spare parts for car production, and which spare parts do we call original? He certainly doesn't produce them.

All over the world there are factories that can produce certain parts for cars. Some of them have enough high quality products and receive orders from automotive companies. Some of the parts are installed on the machines, the rest are intended for "after-sales service", i.e. repair. They will be packaged in boxes with the assigned original number and manufacturer's badge and will be distributed to the warehouses of regional dealers. We call such spare parts original.

But the story doesn't end there. Factory completing an order car company, continues to release these auto parts. They are packed in boxes now with the name of this manufacturer and sold to wholesalers. The quality is, of course, the same, and the price is 1.5 - 2 times lower. However, the manufacturing plant makes conditions for the manufacturer of spare parts not to be sold on secondary market these spare parts for 3, 4, or 5 years. That is why, when new car models appear, high-quality non-original spare parts appear only after a few years.

Then why are original spare parts better, you ask? There is no definite answer, but there are two important criteria that determine the advantage of the original.

At first, not all auto parts manufacturers buy technical documentation from the car manufacturer. In an effort to make money, they produce analogues without the necessary documentation. The price of such spare parts is significantly lower than the original ones, but the quality is in great doubt. A cheap analogue can break down at an inopportune moment, which will entail more expensive repairs. For example, cheap brake pads last 3-4 times less than original ones, but they are not much cheaper. And there are no guarantees regarding their operation.

Nissin is a good example. By purchasing production documentation braking systems from Honda, it begins to produce them with quality even superior to the original parts. In this case, the price can be the same, lower or even higher. On the other hand, Nissin brake pads not only improve the braking performance of the vehicle, but also have a longer service life. However, the consumption of original brake discs may increase. In this case, it is recommended to install brake discs from the same manufacturer.

Burnt in milk, you will blow on the water! It is by this principle that confusion occurs when choosing spare parts for cars, when the question is about choosing: to buy original or non-original spare parts for foreign cars.

Let's understand the definitions

What's the catch? So there is no catch! There is a difference, and it is precisely this difference - this very difference between original and non-original spare parts for foreign cars, together we will try to find and see it now. Important! The concept should not be confused: non-original spare parts for foreign cars and fakes.

What are original car parts? Original spare parts (in this definition we will add both lubricants and TJ for a car) are materials produced either by the automobile concern itself or by a third-party enterprise by the order of this concern, for the assembly of the conveyor and deliveries to the dealer network.

What are non-original parts? Non-original spare parts for foreign cars (duplicate) are spare parts produced using the same technology, licensed (although sometimes not). The manufacturing plant, in addition to delivering to the auto enterprise, can display its products on the so-called. "Aftemarket" - unauthorized stores and services. Moreover, a non-original spare part, as a rule, has two brands: an automobile plant and a manufacturer's plant.

Most often, non-original is consumable car parts: belts, gaskets, bearings, etc.

So the difference between original and non-original spare parts for foreign cars is only in price. This is ideal. Do not forget that there is a whole underground industry for the production of spare parts for cars under the brands of famous brands.

Original or duplicate: which to choose?

You need to learn for yourself, if you are interested not only in the price of the product, but also in the safety and service life of the spare part, that the purchase of non-original spare parts for foreign cars should be made only from authorized dealers, or car manufacturers, or factories that manufacture spare parts.

It is at dealers that you have repeatedly come across the same spare part that has a difference in price. But, you may be alarmed by the word "unoriginal" uttered by the seller. Don't be scared. And you just need to find out with documentary evidence whether the seller is in fact an official dealer. In this case, you have a guarantee for the purchased spare part. If not, then the acquisition risk falls entirely on your shoulders. Rather, on the shoulders of your car.

So that you do not get completely confused when choosing original or non-original spare parts for foreign cars, consider two typical examples.

Non-original spare parts for Japanese cars. The Toyota plant installs original TOYO shock absorbers on its conveyor vehicles. At the same time, KAYABA shock absorbers are very popular in our car market - a high-quality non-original spare part for Japanese cars. And not only for the Japanese. European cars are very good at these shock absorbers. And they are produced by an enterprise that is in no way related to the concern.

Another example is the Volkswagen-Audi-Skoda-Seat carmaker. Many spare parts for the complete set are ordered from third-party, but reliable manufacturers, respectively, they are not original, while the quality meets the standards of the concern. Moreover, all non-original spare parts undergo technical inspection, repackaging, and only then go to the consumer. The brand is the face of the company. Market, gentlemen!

Let's repeat about fakes. Never trust the seller if he cannot confirm the certification of a particular aftermarket spare part for a foreign car. In this case, it is better to overpay in the official service, but be sure that the resource and quality of the spare part correspond to the factory parameters. In any case, the choice is yours. Just remember that a non-original spare part for a foreign car does not differ in quality from the original one. Provided that it is officially manufactured.

Good luck in choosing non-original spare parts for foreign cars.
