System advantages:

Disadvantages of the system:

At very low temperatures, there is a possibility of freezing of fuel in the banjo bolts and the overflow hose, which will make it impossible for fuel to flow from tank to tank and balance the pressure in the main tank with atmospheric. If the main tank closes as tightly as possible, and the pressure in it cannot equalize with the atmospheric pressure, external squeezing of the tank will occur. The tank will shrink inward. With a large number of compression and decompression cycles, the main tank may crack. To avoid this, when the hose freezes, it is enough to simply open the air supply to the tank: open the tank connection with the atmosphere through the fuel receiver ("Air" tube) or by installing the cap from the additional tank ( with valve, access atm. air in the tanks is carried out through it).

On UAZ Hunter cars with a ZMZ-409 Euro-2 engine, a fuel supply system is used without a valve for switching fuel tanks. Fuel supply is carried out by a submersible electric petrol pump (submersible module) installed in the right fuel tank.

From the fuel tanks, through the fine filter, the fuel enters the fuel rail, the relative pressure in which is maintained by the pressure regulator at 300 kPa. The increased fuel pressure eliminates the appearance of air bubbles and gasoline vapors in the fuel line, which interfere with the normal operation of the injectors.

The fuel injectors, which are fast-acting precision valves (normally closed), open to inject fuel into the engine intake pipe. The opening-closing of the injectors is carried out automatically according to the operation sequence of the corresponding output channels of the electronic control unit.

The injectors inject fuel into the hot and closed intake valves of the engine, which improves the quality of the air / fuel mixture. The control unit sets the duration and phase of fuel injection depending on the engine operating mode, crankshaft speed and load.

Excess fuel in the rail is discharged through the pressure regulator drain and the jet pump into the right tank. At the same time, fuel flows from the left tank through the jet pump to the right tank by injection.

After any maintenance or repair work on the fuel supply system of the ZMZ-409 engine related to tightening the connections, removing or replacing parts and assemblies, it is necessary to check the tightness of the system.

Leakage in the joints is eliminated by tightening the joints or replacing defective elements. Tightening of steel fuel pipe fittings should be done with a torque of 27 + -7 Nm. Tighten the clamps of the rubber hoses with a torque of 3.5 + -0.5 Nm.

Clogging of the mesh filter of the submersible module in the right fuel tank, fine fuel filter, the presence of dirt and mechanical impurities in the fuel tanks are manifested in the deterioration of the dynamics of the car, unstable engine operation, primarily at high loads.

If these symptoms occur, in order to avoid the failure of the submersible module and the fuel one, immediately flush the right fuel tank and the submersible module sieve filter, and replace the fine fuel filter.

At ambient temperatures below 0 degrees, signs of clogging can be caused by the presence of water and its freezing in the power system. If water is found in the fuel, drain it and flush the fuel tanks with fuel lines with clean gasoline, and replace the fine fuel filter. If, after carrying out these measures, the nature of the engine operation has not changed and the unstable engine operation is observed, then the following work must be carried out -.

The fuel supply system of the UAZ Hunter includes two fuel tanks of the same volume. The capacity of each is 35 liters. Maintenance of fuel tanks consists in periodically flushing or replacing the filter of the submersible module in the right tank, flushing the filter in the receiving tube of the fuel level indicator in the left tank and the tanks themselves. Fuel rail.

Designed for connecting the fuel line to the engine intake tract and for installing injectors. The fuel rail is a through pipe with four holes for connecting and fixing the inlet fittings of the injectors.

On one side of the pipe, a supply fuel line is connected, on the other, a return fuel line with a fuel pressure regulator. The fuel outlet fittings BOSCH 0 280 150 560 or SIEMENS 6354 ZMZ DEKA1D are pressed through the O-rings by the fuel rail to the holes in the cylinder head.

The fuel pressure regulator consists of the following elements: a housing with a pressure chamber, inlet and outlet fuel connections, a fuel return control valve mounted on a diaphragm, and a vacuum chamber with an air connection.

The fuel pressure regulator is attached through an inlet threaded nipple to the fuel rail drain hole, and its outlet nipple is connected through a drain line to the jet pump. The air connector of the fuel pressure regulator is connected with a thin rubber hose to the connector screwed into the receiver of the intake pipe.

Increased fuel pressure, more than 300 kPa, manifests itself in the engine fuel rail increased consumption fuel, smoky engine exhaust. In case of these signs, you should clean the jet pump, blow out the return fuel lines from the pressure regulator on the fuel rail to the right tank. Replace the pressure regulator and the electric fuel pump if necessary.

The fuel supply system of the ZMZ-409 engine on the UAZ Hunter is equipped with a jet pump. It is designed for forced transfer of fuel from the left fuel tank to the right one. The jet pump is an injector, the flow channel of which is connected to the fuel drain line to the tank, and the injection channel is connected to the fuel intake line. Check the pump and its connections for leaks periodically. If there is no fuel transfer from the left fuel tank to the right one, remove the jet pump and turn out its nozzle, rinse it with clean gasoline and blow it with air.

The jet pump is made in the form of an injector, the flow channel of which is connected to the drain line coming from the engine, and the injection channel is connected to the fuel intake line of the left tank.

Only in the Hunter is the jet pump built into the fuel module cover.

Fuel tanks equipped with sludge drain plugs are located on the left and right between the frame side members and the side panels of the body.

On vehicles equipped with an injection engine, a fuel supply system is used without a valve for switching fuel tanks. The absence of a tap excludes the possibility of disruption of the water supply due to its untimely switching.

Fuel is supplied to the fuel pump from the left tank through the intake pipe mounted on the fuel level sensor. As fuel is consumed, the right tank is automatically replenished from the left one due to the resulting vacuum, since the right tank does not communicate with the atmosphere, and the left fuel tank communicates with the atmosphere through a separator with a valve. Thus, in the presence of fuel in the right tank, the consumption initially comes mainly from the right tank.

Excess fuel drawn back by the fuel pump enters the right tank through the fuel drain line.

Fuel tank filler plugs are blind, provide a hermetic seal, exclude possible leakage and fuel evaporation.

It was not there, they do not provide a tight seal plug and gasoline runs from the neck of the right tank.

The caps themselves are made with ratchets, which makes it impossible to tightly close the tank necks.

How to deal with this? - The manufacturing plant, that is, Ulyanovsk, completely refused to give an answer to the technical question posed, having kicked it to the official dealer. (weirdos with the letter M).

We take the Lovato solenoid valve from gas equipment cars (it just serves as a gasoline cutter).

You can use it manually by screwing in the bolt to the end, we open the valve by unscrewing it and close it.

We install on the fuel intake tube from the left tank.

It turned out not so hot, but it works great, you need to buy adapters at an angle of 90 degrees, otherwise such loops turned out, in short, it is impossible, because the hose is kinked.

And so, the problem is solved and tested.
